Job summary

APRIL is seeking a Surveyor Civil Engineering to perform land, construction, and infrastructure surveys, providing accurate measurements, mapping data, and technical support for civil projects. You will establish survey control, verify elevations, and prepare staking-out data in line with project specs and safety rules.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree (or Diploma) in Civil or Geomatics, 3–5 years’ field experience, proficiency with Total Station, GPS/GNSS, Digital Level, and CAD tools

Job Purpose

Responsible for conducting land, construction, and infrastructure surveys to provide accurate measurements, mapping data, and technical support for civil engineering projects. The role ensures that all survey activities comply with project specifications, engineering standards, safety regulations, and applicable legal requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Surveying & Measurement

• Conduct topographic, boundary, construction, and as-built surveys for civil engineering projects.
• Perform field measurements using surveying equipment such as Total Station, GPS/GNSS, Digital Level, and Drone Survey (preferred).
• Establish and maintain survey control points, benchmarks, and reference coordinates.
• Verify site dimensions, elevations, alignments, and levels before and during construction activities.
• Prepare staking-out and setting-out data for construction works.

Data Processing & Reporting

• Process and analyze survey data using surveying and CAD software.
• Prepare survey drawings, maps, contour plans, and as-built documentation.
• Generate accurate reports and survey records for project teams and stakeholders.
• Ensure all survey data is properly documented and archived.

Project Support

• Collaborate with Civil Engineers, Project Engineers, Contractors, and Construction Teams to support project execution.
• Monitor construction progress and verify work accuracy against engineering drawings and specifications.
• Provide technical recommendations regarding site conditions, earthwork quantities, and construction layouts.
• Support quantity calculations and volume measurements for excavation, embankment, and grading works.

Compliance & Safety

• Ensure survey activities comply with engineering standards, project requirements, and regulatory guidelines.
• Follow company Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) procedures during field activities.
• Maintain and calibrate survey equipment to ensure measurement accuracy.
• Identify and report potential site risks that may affect project execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree (S1) or Diploma (D3/D4) in Civil Engineering, Geodetic Engineering, Geomatics Engineering, Surveying, or related field.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a Surveyor in civil construction, infrastructure, industrial, plantation, mining, pulp & paper, or manufacturing projects.
• Experience in site survey, topographic survey, and construction layout activities.
• Familiarity with earthworks, roads, buildings, drainage systems, and infrastructure projects.
• Proficient in Total Station, GPS/GNSS, Digital Level, and surveying instruments.
• Knowledge of coordinate systems, geodesy principles, and surveying methodologies.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, GIS software, or other survey data processing applications.
• Understanding of construction drawings, engineering specifications, and site layouts.
• Experience with drone mapping and photogrammetry will be an advantage.
