Job summary

Oil States International in Batam, Indonesia is looking for an experienced engineer to develop and review 3D models and 2D drawings. The ideal candidate will have at least 3-5 years of engineering design experience, particularly with AutoCAD and ANSYS, and possess a degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Job description

Responsibilities

Develop and review 3D models (Autodesk Inventor), 2D AutoCAD drawings, and Bills of Materials for new components and equipment. Perform simulation and structural analysis using ANSYS (FEA), including CFD and thermal analysis where required.

Create and review 2D/3D drawings for re-engineering, remanufacturing activities, and test fixture design.

Create and maintain OSI part numbers and drawings within MasterControl, including control of vendor drawings.

Generate, review, and maintain design calculation packages.

Perform design planning for Subsea and CPD projects and maintain all associated engineering documentation.

Receive and evaluate engineering requests from Project Engineers; participate in project briefings and kick-off meetings to define scope and requirements.

Gather technical data from specifications, codes, and reference materials; liaise with customers and sales teams to obtain additional engineering inputs.

Prepare concept and proposal drawings for internal review and customer submission.

Review, verify, and finalize engineering deliverables and ensure proper document control in MasterControl.

Implement design revisions based on feedback or scope changes; assess impact and manage revisions through controlled processes.

Coordinate with OSI UK Engineering by submitting LERs and supporting outsourced engineering activities.

Liaise with customers, third parties, and design houses for approval of drawings and engineering packages.

Lead cross-functional coordination to resolve engineering-related issues with stakeholders.

Prepare work instructions, procedures, and manuals for subsea and CPD equipment.

Maintain technical documentation and engineering library, and track engineering quality objectives.

Perform any other duties assigned by the Engineering or Projects Manager.

Participate in quality and EHS audits (e.g., API and external bodies).

Qualifications

Formal Education & Certification

Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

Knowledge & Experience

Minimum 3–5 years of experience in engineering design in Auto CAD is required. Experience in Solid works / Autodesk Inventor 3D software, ANSYS is mandatory. Animation software skills will be an advantage.

Minimum 3–5 years of experience in engineering design environment and with manufacturing processes such as machining, welding, assembly & testing.

Familiarity with API standards such as:

• API 6A, 16A, 16C, 16F
• API 6AR, 16AR, API S64

Experience in Oil & Gas / Subsea equipment is preferred.

Good command of written and spoken English, with the ability to communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, customers, and international teams.
