Job summary

Buddhidharma seeks an expert Remote Data Privacy Lawyer to lead global data protection initiatives. This fully remote role ensures compliance with GDPR, UU PDP, and other privacy regulations across the company.

You will develop privacy policies, conduct DPIAs/PIAs, handle data subject requests, advise on data handling, and train staff. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in privacy law and proven experience with international teams. Strong analytical and communication skills are essential.

About the Role

Our client is seeking an expert Remote Data Privacy Lawyer to lead their data protection initiatives. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to leverage your expertise in data privacy laws from anywhere. You will be instrumental in ensuring the company's compliance with GDPR, Indonesian data protection laws (UU PDP), and other relevant privacy regulations. Your responsibilities will include developing and implementing data privacy policies, conducting privacy impact assessments, and advising on data handling practices. We are searching for a proactive and knowledgeable lawyer who can navigate the complex landscape of data privacy and security in a globally connected digital environment, contributing to a culture of trust and compliance remotely.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain robust data privacy policies and procedures across the organization.
• Advise on data processing activities, including data collection, storage, use, and deletion.
• Conduct Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs).
• Manage data subject access requests and ensure compliance with breach notification obligations.
• Provide training and guidance to employees on data privacy best practices.
• Liaise with data protection authorities and respond to inquiries.

Requirements

• Law degree (S.H.) with a specialization or significant experience in data privacy law.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in data privacy compliance, preferably in an international context.
• In-depth knowledge of GDPR, Indonesian UU PDP, and other global privacy regulations.
• Experience in drafting privacy notices, consent forms, and data processing agreements.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts clearly.
• Proficiency in privacy management tools and technologies.
