Job summary

MatchaTalent seeks an experienced Diamond Driller to support exploration and mine development drilling in remote Papua New Guinea. You will operate and monitor drill rigs, maximize core recovery, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance while coordinating with geologists and maintenance crews.

This role requires 3–5 years of drilling experience, the ability to work in camp-based rotas, and a strong commitment to safety. English communication is essential for operations and reporting.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years of professional diamond drilling experience.
• Experience operating diamond drill rigs in underground or surface environments.
• Ability to work in remote mining operations, camp-based environments, or rotational rosters.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety, operational discipline, and site procedures.
• Good problem-solving capability and ability to perform in demanding environments.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate and monitor diamond drill rigs to support exploration, resource definition, and mine development drilling programs.
• Achieve planned drilling targets, productivity objectives, and performance requirements.
• Deliver high-quality core recovery in accordance with geological and exploration standards.
• Ensure accurate core handling, sample management, and core presentation throughout drilling activities.
• Conduct routine equipment inspections, preventative maintenance, and consumables management to maximize availability.
• Perform first-line troubleshooting and support corrective actions to minimize downtime.
• Collaborate with geologists, supervisors, maintenance teams, and mining personnel for efficient drilling program execution.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance drilling performance, reliability, and safety.
