Job summary

MatchaTalent is seeking a Diamond Drilling Supervisor for Papua New Guinea operations. Lead drilling crews, optimize performance, and ensure safe, compliant execution of exploration and development programs in remote mining environments.

You will collaborate with geologists and engineers, manage rosters, drive continuous improvement, and uphold high core recovery and sample integrity while meeting project milestones.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of professional diamond drilling experience in mining or exploration.
• Minimum 2 years supervising drilling crews or leading field-based drilling teams.
• Proven track record in underground and/or surface drilling programs and safety performance.
• Strong knowledge of drill rig maintenance, material handling, and field troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Lead, supervise, and mentor diamond drilling crews to ensure safe, efficient operations.
• Coordinate daily drilling activities, manpower, equipment use, and schedules to meet targets.
• Monitor productivity metrics, core recovery rates, and sample integrity.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and exploitation procedures.
• Conduct workplace inspections, risk assessments, and incident investigations as required.
• Oversee maintenance planning and troubleshooting to maximize rig availability.
• Prepare and submit operation reports on production, status, and safety observations.
