Job summary

MatchaTalent seeks a Diamond Drilling Supervisor to lead and coordinate diamond drilling operations in Papua New Guinea. You will supervise crews, optimize performance, ensure safety compliance, and drive core recovery and sample integrity across underground and surface programs.

The role requires strong leadership, field-based experience, and the ability to work in remote mining environments with rotas and camp-based logistics. Fluency in English is essential for supervision and reporting.

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of professional diamond drilling experience in mining or exploration.
2+ years supervising drilling crews or field-based drilling teams.
Experience in underground and/or surface drilling environments.
Proven track record of safety, productivity, and core recovery targets.
Experience in remote camp-based or FIFO/DIDO rosters.

Responsibilities

Lead and mentor diamond drilling crews to ensure safe, efficient operations.
Coordinate daily drilling activities, manpower, equipment, and schedules.
Monitor productivity, metreage, core recovery, and quality of samples.
Ensure compliance with safety, health, environmental, and exploration procedures.
Maintain equipment reliability and coordinate maintenance and troubleshooting.
Prepare operational reports and liaise with geologists, engineers, and site leadership.
Support workforce development through coaching and training.
