Xenith is seeking a talented data-focused engineer to join our Engineering team in Jakarta. You’ll work with a fintech group, handling analytics across payments, settlements, and merchant activity while ensuring data accuracy and reliability.
You will write complex SQL for a ClickHouse warehouse, build dashboards in Superset, and own end-to-end data requests from multiple teams. Strong English communication and a proactive ownership mindset are essential.
We are seeking a talented, endlessly curious individual to join our team. You'll be working closely with
our group of companies in the fintech sector as part of the Engineering department. This company is a leading B2B fintech platform in its field, processing over US$2B across multiple currencies annually.
We're looking for individuals who are driven to create meaningful value, take full ownership of what
they build, and thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. If you're motivated by impactful work
and eager to be part of an innovative team, we'd love to hear from you.
Write, optimise, and maintain SQL queries against a large analytics warehouse (ClickHouse) supporting reporting across payments, settlement, and merchant activity
Build and maintain dashboards in Superset, along with existing reports in Metabase and Redash,
ensuring numbers are accurate, fast, and trusted by the business
Own ad-hoc data requests end to end from ops, product, finance, and risk teams: clarify the
question, produce the answer, and explain it in plain language
Support the data warehouse layers (raw, staging, fact and dimension, mart) and help maintain
dbt models under guidance from the data engineering team
Contribute to the query and dashboard audit: identify unused, heavy, or over-frequent queries
and help clean them up to control warehouse cost and improve reliability
Support automated alert and monitoring workflows (n8n) covering ledger imbalances, gateway
balances, and reconciliation differences
Run basic data quality checks and help investigate discrepancies between source systems and the
warehouse
Document queries, dashboards, and data definitions so work is reusable and handover is clean
Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, product, and operations teams to understand what the data actually needs to answer
Pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field. Strong self-taught candidates with demonstrable project work are equally welcome
Strong SQL is mandatory: joins, aggregations, window functions, CTEs, and subqueries. You should be able to write a non-trivial query without assistance
Practical understanding of query optimisation. You can explain why a query is slow and what to do about it (filtering before joining, avoiding unnecessary scans, sensible indexing and partitioning)
Hands-on experience with at least one BI tool. Superset preferred; Tableau, Power BI, Metabase,
or Redash are also acceptable
Understanding of data warehouse concepts and layered modelling
Attention to detail with numbers. You validate your own output before it reaches a stakeholder
Strong written and spoken English, with the ability to explain technical findings to non-technical
colleagues
Ownership mindset. You follow a request through to a usable answer rather than stopping at the query
Exposure to dbt or another transformation framework
Experience with columnar or cloud warehouses such as ClickHouse, BigQuery, or Snowflake
Automation or workflow tooling such as n8n, Zapier, or Airflow
Scripting in Python for data work (pandas, basic ETL)
Version control with Git
Interest in payments, fintech, fraud, or risk analytics
