Job Summary
Supervises the shift technician team and central facilities operations during shift rotation, ensuring continuous monitoring, incident response, and safe operation of critical plant outside standard business hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise the central facilities operations centre and the shift team during shift rotation.
- Monitor and respond to abnormal conditions in critical facility systems.
- Lead the team in fault-finding, escalation, emergency response, and operation of critical services.
- Coordinate with the day operations team to align critical environment equipment through electrical/mechanical switching activities.
- Carry out toolbox talks, workplace assessments, and audits at required frequencies.
- Operate critical plant where authorized; ensure compliance with health and safety processes and procedures.
- Lead shift training through scenarios, lessons learned, O&Ms, and site drawings.
- Ensure completion of both planned and reactive maintenance tasks during the shift.
- Provide holiday and sickness cover as required, including at short notice.
Requirements / Qualifications
- Several years of experience in a data centre or similar critical/lab environment.
- Strong understanding of LV/MV power distribution, loading, and protection systems.
- Experience with complex automatic control equipment, relay logic, PLCs, and BMS integration.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a shift/critical environment team.
- Appointed or eligible for High Voltage Authorised Person (HVAP) status.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
