Job summary

PPG Jakarta IHQ asks for a capable Customer Service Executive to report to the CS Manager and be based at the Jakarta headquarters. The role involves supporting key accounts, internal sales, and order management, with collaboration across production, purchasing, and logistics to ensure on-time shipments.

Qualifications

• College degree or above
• Fluency in English, both written and verbal
• 5+ years of experience in customer service or a related role within the chemical industry
• Manage multiple accounts and handling escalated cases simultaneously
• Comfortable with occasional overtime and short period business travel as needed
• Experience in ERP systems (QAD, SAP, Oracle)
• Able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

• Support Key account Managers to maintain customer relationships and improve engagement
• Handle internal sales to capture ad-hoc demand
• Process orders, maintain sales orders, and handle basic RFQs
• Respond to quotes, orders, inquiries, and invoicing issues promptly and professionally
• Ensure accurate recording of product names, batch numbers, and specifications
• Coordinate with plant production, purchasing, and logistics for availability and on-time shipments
• Communicate proactively with customers and internal teams
• Track orders and coordinate corrective actions for on-time delivery
• Coordinate customer complaints with relevant functions
• Set priorities aligned with business directions
• Learn products and services to respond to simple inquiries quickly
• Provide regular feedback on customer needs and orders to Sales team
• Maintain high housekeeping in the general office area

Job description

As a Customer Service Executive you will report to CS Manager and will be based at PPG Jakarta IHQ.

Main Responsibilities

• You will support Key account Managers to support customer relationship, improve business engagement and performance
• Internal sales to support to capture ad-hoc demand through available business channel
• You will work independently on Order receiving, Sales order maintenance and basic RFQs, consult account manager when necessary
• Promptly respond to and action customer quotes, orders, enquiries, and invoicing issues in an integral & professional manner.
• Accuracy in recording and entering information, especially product names, batch numbers, and specifications.
• Co-ordinate with plant production, purchasing, and logistics to ensure product availability and timely shipment of products to meet customer requirements.
• Proactive in communication, both external customer and internal operation functions
• Track order status & co-ordinate corrective actions to ensure on-time delivery of goods.
• Co-ordinate customer complaints with relevant area functions
• Set priorities and support business/management directions
• Quickly learner to gain basic understanding of the products and services offered, in order to quickly respond to simple customer inquiries
• Provide regular feedback on customer needs and orders to Sales team.
• Maintain high housekeeping standards in general office area.
