Job summary

SCHOTT in Batam is seeking a Customer Account Quality Engineer to coordinate between customers and internal teams on quality, product qualification, and engineering changes. The role focuses on maintaining strong customer relationships, ensuring timely documentation, and leading investigations using 8D methods.

Ideal candidates have a materials/engineering background, 2–5 years of related experience, and strong knowledge of PPAP, APQP, and statistical tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline as listed
• Experience in customer quality, new product introduction, and engineering change management
• Knowledge of APQP/PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA and IATF 16949 preferred

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary coordination point between customers and internal quality/engineering functions
• Document and coordinate customer requirements and customer-specific needs
• Coordinate deliverables and ensure actions, reports, samples, and documentation are completed on time
• Maintain records of customer requirements, open actions, and quality correspondence
• Coordinate audits, surveys, and quality performance reviews
• Lead 8D problem solving for customer complaints and root cause analysis
• Monitor product quality, process stability and capability during manufacturing
• Lead quality activities for new product introductions and engineering changes
• Conduct risk assessments for new products and changes
• Prepare and review PPAP documentation and qualification records
