Job summary

Mandarin Oriental, Jakarta is seeking a Kitchen Intern to support the hotel's culinary team in delivering exceptional dining experiences for guests. You will assist with food preparation, plating, and maintaining hygiene standards in a fast-paced kitchen.

Reporting to the Executive Chef, you will help with menu preparation, stock rotation, and daily kitchen operations while developing practical culinary skills and a strong understanding of MO standards.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing or recently completing a degree in Culinary Arts, Hospitality Management, or related field.
• Strong interest in culinary operations and guest dining experiences.
• Good command of English and strong organizational skills.
• Passionate, detail-oriented, reliable, and able to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist chefs in preparing ingredients and basic dishes.
• Support plating and presentation to ensure consistency with MO standards.
• Help maintain cleanliness and organization in kitchen workstations.
• Assist in preparing menus and logistics for outlets, banquets, VIP events, and special functions.
• Record and update kitchen production sheets and checklists.
