Job summary

Kuehne+Nagel is seeking a Warehouse Operations Supervisor in Batam to lead and optimize daily warehouse activities, manage staffing, and ensure KPI achievement. This role requires strong leadership, WMS/SAP proficiency, and a focus on safety, accuracy, and continuous improvement.

You will drive continuous improvement initiatives, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and support start-up or transition projects in a dynamic Contract Logistics environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in warehouse operations.
• 2+ years in a supervisory/people management role.
• Experience with WMS, SAP and RF scanning.
• Strong KPI delivery, productivity and service focus.
• Experience with start-up/transition projects is preferred.

Responsibilities

How you create impact

• To manage, plan, organize, staff, + direct warehouse activities attending to HR issues such as absence, attendance, sick leave etc. this will include assessing workloads within the allocated team + allocating resources adequately on a day to day basis
• To achieve your key performance indicators (KPI) in the areas of management, productivity, + customer service and to ensure your teams deliver against their KPI.
• To ensure that all company equipment + assets are handled + operated in a responsible manner at all times.
• To ensure that all team members are compliant with all Health + Safety policies + processes at all times.

What we would like you to bring

• Minimum 5 years of experience in Warehouse Operations, Contract Logistics, or 3PL environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or people management role (mandatory).
• Proven experience managing end-to-end warehouse operations, including inbound, outbound, inventory management, order fulfilment, stock accuracy, cycle counting, and reporting.
• Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), SAP, RF scanning, and operational reporting tools.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop warehouse teams, including workforce planning, performance management, employee engagement, coaching, and discipline management.
• Experience in supporting new warehouse start-up, project implementation, customer onboarding, process stabilization, or operational transition is highly preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision‑making skills with the ability to drive operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives.
• proven ownership and accountability for site performance, including service delivery, productivity, quality, inventory accuracy, and customer KPIs/SLAs.
• Proven capability to manage daily operational challenges while ensuring compliance with customer requirements, company standards, and safety regulations.
• Experience in direct customer engagement, including conducting operational reviews and preparing daily, weekly, and monthly performance reports.
• Customer-oriented mindset with the ability to build strong relationships and effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
• Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, 5S, Kaizen, or other continuous improvement methodologies will be an advantage.
• Experience working with multinational customers, particularly within manufacturing, electronics, semiconductor, or industrial sectors, is preferred.
• Strong communication and presentation skills in Bahasa Indonesia and English, both verbal and written.
• Willing to work in shifts and support operational requirements based on business demands.
• Strong leadership, adaptability, and resilience to thrive in a fast‑paced and dynamic project environment.
• Preferably domiciled in Batam, Kepulauan Riau.
