Job summary

Suryacipta in Indonesia is seeking a seasoned Contract/Commercial Engineer to lead contract administration for major infrastructure projects in West Java. You will review scopes, BOQ, payment terms, VO, and EOT while ensuring contractual compliance from start to close.

Collaborating with Construction, Planning, QS, Procurement, Legal, and consultants, you will resolve disputes, amend contracts, and support close-out.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, QS, Construction Management.
• Minimum 5 years of contract/commercial experience in construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of contract administration and VO/EOT processes.
• Ability to review BOQ and commercial documents.
• Familiarity with FIDIC or similar frameworks is a plus.
• Proficient in MS Office; ERP experience preferred.

Job Description

• Manage contract administration and compliance, including reviewing contract scope, Bills of Quantities (BOQ), payment terms, variation orders (VO), site instructions, claims, Extension of Time (EOT), and contractual correspondence.
  
• Evaluate work variations, project delays, and commercial risks to ensure the rights and obligations of both SCS and contractors are properly managed, documented, and protected throughout the project lifecycle.
  
• Coordinate with Construction, Planning, Quantity Surveying (QS), Procurement, Legal, consultants, and contractors to resolve variation orders, claims, payment matters, contract amendments, disputes, and contract close-out activities.
  

Requirements

• Minimum Bachelor's Degree (S1) in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying (QS), Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Contract Engineer, Commercial Engineer, Bid Engineer, Quantity Surveyor (QS), or in a similar contract/commercial role within construction, infrastructure, or industrial projects.
  
• Strong understanding of construction contract administration, commercial management, variation orders (VO), claims, Extension of Time (EOT), contract amendments, payment processes, and dispute resolution.
  
• Proficient in reviewing and interpreting contracts, Bills of Quantities (BOQ), technical specifications, drawings, and commercial documents.
  
• Familiar with standard forms of construction contracts (e.g., FIDIC or similar contract frameworks) is an advantage.
  
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Word); experience with ERP or contract management systems is an advantage.
