About the work

This is an on‑site role based in Makassar.
You’ll be working on our YouTube channel focused on educational storytelling with a curiosity‑driven angle, genuinely funny while still being smart. Think "BlueJay" or "Sam O'Nella Academy," or from Indonesia, "KokBisa." If you’re the kind of person who enjoys digging into weird history, obscure facts, or "how did that actually happen" stories, and you find yourself wanting to explain them to your friends after watching, this is your kind of project.

AI handles the heavy lifting of research and drafts a base script for each episode. Your job is to take that draft and make it actually good, sharpening the story, adding the jokes and personality, fixing pacing, and directing the AI to refine sections until it hits. You’re not starting from a blank page, you’re the storyteller and editor shaping raw material into something people want to watch.

Qualifications & experience

A genuine interest in writing and storytelling

Comfortable using AI tools to assist your writing process, this role is about story sense and judgment, not typing speed

Strong English, written and spoken. No certification required

Organized and reliable, able to track tasks and keep a production schedule moving without being chased

Takes feedback well and is willing to keep improving

What we’re NOT looking for

Not a journalist, not a news writer, not someone who writes formal articles.

We’re looking for someone who can tell a story, not report one.

What you’ll do

Day to day, you’ll take a script from first draft to final version, ready for production, working closely with AI tools and the team’s feedback to get there. You’ll also help keep things moving behind the scenes, tracking where each script is in the pipeline and coordinating with the team so nothing stalls between writing and final video. We’ll train you on our systems and standards from day one, and as you get better at nailing the style, you’ll get more ownership over the writing itself.

You’ll always work on one task at a time. If something urgent comes up, we’ll pause your current task and adjust the deadline. We won’t have you juggling multiple tasks at once.
