Job summary

APRIL is seeking an entry-level Reliability Technician to perform routine condition monitoring and data collection at our Pangkalan Kerinci site in Riau. You will gather vibration, temperature, ultrasound, and noise data using handheld tools and log them into CMMS systems.

You will support senior technicians in infrared thermography, ultrasound testing, shaft alignment, and balancing, while helping draft daily logs and escalate critical issues.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Associate Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a completed Mechanical Trade qualification.
• ISO 18436 Category I Vibration Analyst (preferred); Basic Infrared Thermography or Ultrasound Testing certifications are a strong plus.
• Willing to be placed in Pangkalan Kerinci, Riau

Responsibilities

• Perform routine condition monitoring routes and collect vibration, temperature, and other diagnostic data.
• Log data into CMMS or Machine Analyst databases (e.g., SAP, Emerson AMS, SKF Aptitude).
• Assist with oil and lubrication sampling and basic contamination testing.
• Support senior technicians with infrared thermography, ultrasonic leak detection, shaft alignment, and dynamic balancing.
• Draft daily inspection logs and escalate critical anomalies or high alarms.
• Maintain calibration checkups for specialized test tools and meters.
• Prepare reports and communicate findings to reliability engineers.

Job description

Perform routine condition monitoring routes, collect high-quality diagnostic data from plant assets, perform entry-level data entry/analysis, and report anomalies to senior reliability engineers.

Key Responsibilities

• Routine Data Collection: Conduct field routes to gather vibration, temperature, ultrasound, and noise data on mechanical equipment using handheld data collectors and sensors.
• Fluid Sampling: Assist with oil and lubrication sampling, fluid degradation checks, and basic contamination testing.
• Visual & Initial Diagnostics: Perform basic physical inspections (identifying unusual noises, leaks, overheating, or loose fittings) and flag preliminary abnormalities.
• Data Logging & Entry: Upload collected vibration and process parameters into CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) or Machine Analyst databases (e.g., SAP, Emerson AMS, SKF @ptitude).
• Support Specialized Inspections: Assist senior technicians with infrared thermography, ultrasonic leak detection, shaft alignment, and dynamic balancing.
• Reporting & Escalation: Draft daily inspection logs, issue basic defect notifications, and immediately escalation critical anomalies or high alarms.
• Equipment Maintenance & Care: Maintain, handle, and support calibration checkups for specialized test tools and meters.

Job Requirement

• Education: Diploma, or Associate Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a completed Mechanical Trade qualification.
• Certifications (Preferred): ISO 18436 Category I Vibration Analyst (e.g., Mobius Institute VCAT I, Vibration Institute). Basic certifications in Infrared Thermography or Ultrasound Testing are a strong plus.
