Job summary

PT Hanes Supply Chain Indonesia is seeking a Colour Engineer with a Bachelor’s degree in Textile/Colour Engineering and 3–5 years of experience in fabric colour. The role requires strong knowledge of colour measurement, spectrophotometers, and colour management software, with fluent English.

You will review lab and bulk colour submissions, coordinate with the Regional Colour team, and work with garment makers to ensure colour matches meet Regional requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Textile/Colour Engineering required.
  • 3–5 years' experience in fabric colour field.
  • Experience with Indonesian RM and vendors is a plus.
  • Knowledge of numerical colour measurement and decision making.
  • Fluent English in writing and speaking is a must.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Understanding of visual and instrumental colour evaluation procedures.
  • Proficient in textile and fabric testing procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Review/approve lab and bulk submissions for fabrics and trims per Regional Colour Approval.
  • Maintain records in line with Regional Colour procedures.
  • Support and collaborate with the Australian colour team.
  • Work with garment makers to achieve required colour matching per Regional standards.
  • Increase colour approval responsibilities at Regional facilities to shorten colour decision making.
  • Review and refine colour procedures.
  • Collaborate with production/vendor teams on colour-related problem solving.

Job description

Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree in Textile/ colour Engineering

At least 3-5 years relevant working experience in fabric colour field

Knowledge working with Indonesian RM and vendors will be an added advantage

Decision making skills and understanding and experience of numerical colour measurement

Fluent English in written and spoken is a must

Strong analytical and problem solving skills

Have a thorough understanding of visual and instrumental colour evaluation procedures

Good knowledge of testing of textile and fabric processing

Proficiency in spectrophotometers, colour management software and best operational practices

Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • To review/ approve the lab and bulk submissions for fabrics and trims, in line with the Regional Colour Approval
  • Record keeping to be in line with present Regional Colour procedure
  • To support and work closely with the Australian colour team
  • Work with new and existing garment makers in order that they are brought to the colour matching level required by Regional
  • Look to increase the colour approval responsibility levels in the Regional facilities in order that the colour decision making process is closer to the supply and manufacturing bases
  • Help to review and refine the colour procedure
  • Work closely with production/ vendor stakeholders on color related problem solving
