Qualifications

Role Description

The Chief Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Denpasar, responsible for overseeing all engineering and maintenance operations across the property. This role manages preventive and corrective maintenance for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and pool systems, as well as the building structure and beach club facilities. The Chief Engineer leads and schedules the engineering team, coordinates with other departments to support smooth daily operations and events, and ensures safety, regulatory compliance, and optimal equipment performance. Day-to-day tasks include monitoring energy usage, maintaining asset records, supervising contractors, troubleshooting urgent technical issues, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives to enhance reliability and guest experience.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated expertise in building systems, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, pool systems, and general facility maintenance.
• Strong skills in maintenance planning, preventive maintenance programs, troubleshooting, and asset management within hospitality or similar environments.
• Proven leadership capabilities in supervising engineering teams, scheduling work, managing vendors, and coordinating with cross-functional departments.
• Knowledge of safety standards, local regulations, environmental and energy management practices, and risk management procedures.
• Relevant technical education or certification in engineering or building services; a background in hotel, resort, or beach club operations is highly beneficial.
• Ability to work hands-on on-site, respond quickly to operational issues, communicate clearly with diverse stakeholders, and maintain calm under pressure.
• Proficiency with basic computer tools and maintenance management systems; experience with project work, renovations, or upgrades is an advantage.
