Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Carpenter role based at Universitas Sriwijaya in Palembang. The Carpenter will construct, install, repair, and maintain wooden structures, fixtures, and furniture for campus buildings and facilities. Daily tasks include reading and interpreting blueprints or technical drawings, measuring and cutting materials, assembling frameworks, and performing finish work such as trim, doors, and cabinetry. The role involves safe operation of hand and power tools, collaborating with maintenance and facilities teams, and ensuring work meets safety, durability, and quality standards. The Carpenter is expected to maintain a clean and organized work area, follow all institutional safety procedures, and complete projects within agreed timelines.

Qualifications

• Strong carpentry skills with experience in structural and general woodwork.
• Proficiency with hand tools (e.g., hammers, chisels, saws) and safe, efficient use of power tools.
• Knowledge of framing techniques for walls, floors, and roofs.
• Experience in finish carpentry, including doors, windows, trim, and cabinetry installation.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and technical specifications.
• Understanding of workplace safety standards and safe material handling.
• Good physical stamina, manual dexterity, and ability to lift and move materials as required.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work cooperatively with diverse teams.
