Job summary

Dharma Uluwatu in Badung, Bali, is seeking a Bar Back to support our busy beachside venue. This full-time role backs up the bar team, restocking supplies, preparing the station and assisting bartenders to ensure smooth service for every guest.

You will maintain hygiene and organisation behind the bar, handle stock monitoring, and help with cash handling as needed. The ideal candidate is reliable, physically fit, and a team player who can work evenings, weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as Bar Back or similar hospitality support role.
• Knowledge of bar operations, glassware, spirits and mixers.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills.
• Physical fitness to stand long hours and lift heavy items.
• Positive, team-oriented attitude with good communication.
• Willingness to obtain food safety certification.

Responsibilities

About the role

We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic Bar Back to join the team at Dharma Uluwatu. This is a full-time position based in Badung, Bali, where you will play a vital role in supporting our bar operations and ensuring exceptional service delivery to our guests. As a Bar Back, you will be the backbone of our bar team, working behind the scenes to maintain efficiency, organisation and excellence in one of Bali's premier hospitality venues.

What you'll be doing

• Restocking and organising bar supplies, including spirits, wines, beers, mixers and glassware throughout service periods
• Preparing and maintaining the bar station with clean, ready-to-use equipment and ingredients
• Assisting bartenders by providing them with requested items, ice and prepared garnishes in a timely manner
• Washing, sanitising and properly storing glassware, bottles and bar equipment according to hygiene standards
• Monitoring inventory levels and alerting management when stock requires replenishment
• Supporting the bar team during peak service times to maintain smooth operations
• Maintaining a clean and safe working environment behind the bar, including floors and work surfaces
• Assisting with basic cash handling and till operations as required
• Responding promptly to bartender requests and working as a cohesive team to deliver excellent guest experiences
• Following all health, safety and food hygiene regulations

What we're looking for

• Previous experience as a Bar Back or in a similar bar support role within a hospitality setting
• Strong knowledge of bar operations, glassware types and standard spirits and mixers
• Excellent organisational and time management skills to manage multiple tasks during busy service periods
• Physical fitness and stamina to stand for long periods and lift heavy items such as bottle crates and kegs
• Quick learning ability and attention to detail in maintaining standards
• A positive, team-oriented attitude with strong communication skills
• Ability to work well under pressure and remain calm during peak service times
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends and public holidays
• Professional appearance and a passion for delivering outstanding hospitality
• Food safety certification or willingness to obtain it
