Job summary

ASTRO in Indonesia seeks a Category Development (Bakery) specialist to drive end-to-end NPD and growth for Private Label Bakery products.

You will ideate, test, coordinate with vendors, manage packaging, and launch while coordinating with Supply Chain to ensure availability and minimize OOS. A Bachelor's degree and 1–2 years in category/product development are needed, with strong bakery knowledge and negotiation skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Accounting, Food Technology, or related fields.
• 1–2 years of experience in Category Management, Product Development, Brand Management, Trade Marketing, or similar roles.
• Experience in F&B, FMCG, Retail, Private Label, or Bakery-related categories preferred.
• Experience handling products from idea or sample stage through commercial launch would be a strong asset.
• Strong Bakery product knowledge and trend awareness.
• Strong interest in Bakery or Pastry products and market trends.
• Comfortable with both commercial analysis and hands-on execution.
• Commercially driven, ambitious, and proactive in moving projects forward.
• Strong communication, coordination, and negotiation skills.
• Adaptable in fast-paced, changing environments.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end New Product Development (NPD) from ideation to launch.
• Support Growth NPD initiatives to grow the Bakery category.
• Coordinate with Supply Chain to maintain product availability and minimize OOS.
• Monitor Bakery trends, performance, and product scrap for improvements.
• Conduct product and sample evaluations, including weekly panel testing.
• Coordinate with vendors on samples, timelines, and requirements.
• Support vendor assessment and sourcing activities when needed.
• Work with teams on packaging development, design, and administrative requirements.
• Coordinate with trainers for product knowledge before rollout.
• Manage multiple projects with cross-functional stakeholders to stay on track.
