Job summary

BukuWarung is hiring an SDE II in Lending Engineering to design and scale our lending platform across origination, disbursement, and repayment. You will build reliable systems with strong data consistency and integrate with external financial partners.

You will work in a Hexagonal Architecture, enabling automated underwriting and scalable decisioning while ensuring fault-tolerant operations and clean, testable code. Join us to impact merchants accessing credit at scale.

Qualifications

• 3–6 years of backend engineering experience in distributed or financial domains.
• Strong emphasis on reliability, consistency, and maintainability.
• Experience with asynchronous or reactive programming is preferred.
• Solid understanding of Hexagonal/Clean Architecture and event-driven design.
• Experience with PostgreSQL and transactional integrity in distributed systems.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver core lending features across origination, disbursement, repayment, and reconciliation.
• Ensure data integrity across distributed services in financial transactions.
• Build robust integrations with payment gateways, banks, and credit bureaus.
• Contribute to underwriting foundations enabling future automation of credit decisions.
• Improve fault tolerance, idempotency, and recovery in financial operations.
• Design schemas and manage database evolution with PostgreSQL and Flyway.
• Leverage Kafka for asynchronous processing and decoupled communication.
• Write clean, testable code and participate in code reviews to raise standards.
