Job summary

FinShot, Inc. is seeking a Bridge Engineer who will translate Korea-origin requirements into precise English specifications for developers. You will stay close to the code, verify feasibility, and ensure specs are build-ready. The role blends backend engineering judgment with strong specification skills.

You will craft detailed APIs, data structures, and edge-case handling, break work into tickets, and drive sizing estimates. Collaboration with the Korea tech lead is essential.

Job description

As a Bridge Engineer, you turn product requirements coming from Korea into detailed specifications that developers can implement as-is. This is not translation or message-passing: your job is to find the ambiguities, close them with the right questions, and produce specifications that are ready to build.

This is not a documentation-only role. You stay close to the code - verifying technical feasibility and writing specs that engineers can rely on. We are looking for a backend engineer who brings both strong specification skills and hands-on engineering judgment.

Key responsibilities

Take product requirements and finalize them into detailed English specifications, covering edge cases such as failures, duplicates, limit overruns, and cancellations

Break specifications down into work tickets and estimate sizing

Write detailed English specifications (APIs, data structures, edge cases), draft tickets, and estimate size

When blocked while writing a spec, open the code directly to confirm - performing bug fixes, refactoring, or technical validation as needed

Respond to developer questions on specifications and coordinate technical matters with the Korea tech lead

Requirements

3–5 years of hands-on backend development (Java/Spring preferred; Go, Node, or PHP experience also welcome)

Working-level English - able to write documents and run meetings (we assess sentence construction, not pronunciation)

Experience designing REST APIs and RDB schemas

Experience organizing requirements into documents (technical specs, API docs, BRDs, etc.)

Native Indonesian speaker

Nice to Have

Experience in finance / fintech / payments (bank SI, payment gateway, P2P lending, etc.)

Experience collaborating with an overseas headquarters (foreign-owned or remote team)

Experience with issue-tracking and documentation tools (e.g., Jira, GitLab, Confluence, Notion)
