Job summary

SG-EDTS is hiring a backend engineer in Jakarta Pusat to design, build, and maintain scalable backend systems. You will write clean, efficient code and optimize performance while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact solutions.

The role requires 3+ years in software engineering with strong Java skills, RESTful API design, and a strong sense of ownership. On-site work at Wisma 46 in Jakarta is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from a reputable university.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in software engineering with backend focus.
• Proficiency in Java is a must, Go is a plus.
• Experience designing RESTful APIs and cloud platforms is beneficial.
• Secure coding and CI/CD experience.
• Strong ownership and accountability for assigned tasks.

What You Will Do:

• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend applications, APIs, and data integrations.


• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code while adhering to best practices.


• Improve and optimize existing systems for better performance and reliability.


• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and respond to alerts proactively.


• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact solutions.


• Participate in architectural discussions and propose innovative solutions for high-traffic environments.


• Contribute to post-mortem analyses and continuously improve system resilience

Person We Are Looking For:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from a reputable university


• Minimum 3 years of experience in software engineering, particularly in efficient backend development


• Proficiency in Java (is a must), or Go- Ability to dive deep and work across backend services, ensuring efficiency, scalability, and maintainability


• RESTful API design and development


• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP) is a Plus


• Secure coding standard


• Eagerness to continuously learn whether it’s technology-related, product-related, or beyond


• A strong sense of ownership and accountability for both the product(s) and assigned tasks- Version control using Git; CI/CD pipeline experience testing and performance optimization


• Good communication skills both written and verbal
