Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical or Electrical, or related field.
  • Working knowledge of utility operations and maintenance principles.
  • Fresh graduates with strong technical aptitude and willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure operation of utility plants complies with safety, environmental, and quality standards.
  • Assist planning, scheduling, and prioritization of maintenance within utility plant, buildings, and WWTP.
  • Develop and implement maintenance strategies for high energy efficiency and cost competitiveness.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in utility operations and sustainability programs.
  • Improve equipment performance by reducing downtime and increasing reliability.
  • Ensure availability of critical spare parts and optimize inventory levels.
  • Maintain compliance with safety, quality, and environmental requirements.
  • Promote proactive safety culture and risk identification.
  • Monitor KPIs related to reliability, maintenance effectiveness, and energy consumption.

Ensuring every innovation lands on time, in full, and with uncompromised quality requires strong leadership, technical understanding, and cross‑functional collaboration. As a key member of the Engineering and Maintenance team, the BW ID Asst. Engineering Manager for Utility and Environment will work closely with Production, Quality, Safety, Planning & Project. Reporting to the Cikarang Engineering Manager, this role is responsible for maintenance, operation and continues improvement in utility area as well as delivering sustainability program for BW and PC in Cikarang Skin Factory.

Main Responsibilities
  • Ensure the operation of utility plants is fully compliant with applicable legislation, safety regulations, environmental requirements, and quality standards.
  • Support the planning, scheduling, and prioritization of maintenance activities within the utility plant, building facilities, and Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) to ensure optimal asset performance.
  • Develop and implement maintenance strategies and operational excellence initiatives to ensure high energy efficiency and utility cost competitiveness.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across utility operations while supporting sustainability and energy‑efficiency programs.
  • Improve equipment performance by reducing downtime, eliminating minor stops, and enhancing equipment reliability and availability.
  • Ensure the availability of critical spare parts and consumables while optimizing inventory levels to balance operational reliability and cost efficiency.
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable safety, quality, and environmental requirements.
  • Promote a proactive safety culture by identifying risks, implementing preventive measures, and ensuring safe operation of utility and facility systems.
  • Monitor and improve key performance indicators (KPIs) related to utility reliability, maintenance effectiveness, energy consumption, and operational efficiency.
Requirements

Experience & Qualification Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline Working knowledge of utility operations and maintenance principles. However, fresh graduates with strong technical aptitude and a willingness to learn are encouraged to apply. Proven ability to manage complex and high‑risk operations safely and effectively. Strong leadership skills with a hands‑on, field‑oriented approach. Effective stakeholder management and cross‑functional collaboration skills. Results‑driven mindset with a strong focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence.
