Job summary

PT. Distributor Komponen Utama seeks an automation engineer to advance control and instrumentation in a heavy industry setting. You will apply Siemens PLCs, work with TIA Portal, and integrate WinCC/SCADA to sustain reliable plant operations.

The role requires hands-on troubleshooting, system diagnostics, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to maintain safety and efficiency in a demanding environment.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor in Electrical/Mechatronics/Automation/Instrumentation engineering.
• Minimum 2 years in automation, control and instrumentation in heavy industry.
• Hands-on Siemens PLC S7-300/400/1200/1500 programming and troubleshooting.
• Proficiency with Siemens TIA Portal for hardware and software configuration.
• Experience with WinCC/SCADA and HMI integration.
• Familiar with SINAMICS drives and PLC integration.
• Strong knowledge of Profinet/Profibus networks and diagnostics.
• Reading electrical drawings, P&ID, and EPLAN/AutoCAD Electrical schematics.
• Understanding of PID, interlocks, and sequence control.
• Good troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and fast recovery.
• Awareness of HSE, LOTO, and permit-to-work in heavy industry.
• Willing to work shifts, on-call, in hot/dusty/noisy environments.

Job description

• Diploma/Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation, or Instrumentation Engineering
• Minimum 2 years experience in automation, control, and instrumentation, preferably in smelter, metallurgy, or process industries
• Hands-on experience with Siemens PLC S7-300,400,1200,1500 for programming, troubleshooting, diagnostics, and program modification
• Proficient in Siemens TIA Portal V15+ for hardware configuration, Ladder/FBD/SCL programming, and HMI integration
• Experience integrating Siemens WinCC/SCADA and HMI systems with PLC
• Familiar with SINAMICS G120/S120 drives and their integration with Siemens PLC
• Solid understanding of Profinet, Profibus DP/PA, and industrial network troubleshooting
• Able to calibrate and troubleshoot sensors, transmitters, valves, and ET200 I/O modules
• Skilled in reading electrical drawings, P&ID, and Siemens EPLAN/AutoCAD Electrical schematics
• Knowledge of PID control, interlocks, and sequence control for process automation
• Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills for rapid system recovery
• Understanding of HSE standards, LOTO procedures, and permit to work systems in heavy industry
• Willing to work in shifts, on-call duty, and in hot, dusty, noisy smelter environments
• Detail oriented, analytical, and proactive with good communication and teamwork skills
• Siemens PLC certification and commissioning experience are a plus.
