Job summary

SAMPOERNA ACADEMY in Bogor is seeking an Assistant Teacher to support the lead teacher in designing and facilitating learning activities, managing the classroom, and boosting student engagement across core subjects and local Indonesian studies (Indonesian language, BIPA, Civics).

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education (PGSD), at least 3 years’ experience in education, a compassionate, nurturing approach, and excellent communication in Bahasa and English.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education (PGSD) required.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a supportive role in education.
• Compassionate attitude and strong understanding of child development.
• Nurturing teaching approach.
• Excellent communication skills (Bahasa & English).
• Experience with Cambridge curriculum is preferred but not required.
• Full Time.

Responsibilities

• Assist in designing and facilitating learning activities, classroom management, and student engagement for the core subjects under the guidance of the lead teacher.
• Designing and facilitating learning activities, classroom management, and student engagement for local subjects (Indonesian language, BIPA, Civics) and possibly other subjects, as assigned, with guidance of the lead teacher as needed.
• Support the lead teacher in providing pastoral care and fostering an environment that promotes students’ holistic growth.
• Serve as a positive role model for students, upholding the school's mission and maintaining high standards of professional conduct and ethics.
• Pursue professional development to improve teaching practices and personal growth, including workshops, seminars, and educational courses relevant to teaching young children.
