BYD Auto Co., Ltd. is seeking an Assistant Field Engineer to identify and resolve shop floor issues, drive continuous improvement, and execute technical projects that raise workshop efficiency and productivity in our Indonesian operations.

The role requires a Diploma or Bachelor in Mechanical/Industrial/Automotive Engineering and 1–3 years of experience in field engineering or production support. Fresh graduates with strong internships are welcome to apply.

Qualifikationen

• Understanding of 5M/4M1E root-cause analysis and 5S workplace organization.
• Experience with Lean/Kaizen improvement methodologies.
• Ability to read technical drawings and understand automotive/manufacturing workflows.
• Professional working proficiency in English; Mandarin is a plus for alignment and reporting.

Aufgaben

• Identify operational issues across 5M (People, Machine, Material, Method, Environment) and drive on-site corrective actions.
• Initiate engineering projects addressing major technical challenges and quality discrepancies in production areas.
• Lead workshop-level Kaizen proposals with monthly analysis, evaluation, and follow-through.
• Implement efficiency initiatives to boost workshop productivity using industrial engineering methods.
• Perform other technical and operational duties as assigned by leadership.

Assistant Field Engineer role focused on identifying and resolving operational issues across manufacturing and production environments, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and executing technical projects to enhance workshop efficiency and productivity.

Key responsibilities

Identify operational issues across People, Machine, Material, Method, and Environment (5M)—including quality defects, process bottlenecks, material flows, efficiency gaps, and personnel issues and drive timely on-site corrective actions

Initiate engineering projects targeting major technical challenges and quality discrepancies in production areas, tracking project execution to full completion

Champion workshop-level rationalization and continuous improvement (Kaizen) proposal programs, conducting monthly analysis, evaluation, and follow-through

Implement workshop efficiency enhancement initiatives to elevate employee productivity using proven industrial engineering methods

Complete other technical and operational duties assigned by leadership

About you

Diploma (D3) or Bachelor's Degree (S1) in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Mechatronics, or related disciplines

1–3 years of experience in shopfloor field engineering, manufacturing process support, or production line technical coordination

Outstanding fresh graduates with strong internship experience are welcome to apply

Solid understanding of 5M/4M1E root-cause analysis, 5S workplace organization, and Lean/Kaizen improvement methodologies

Ability to read technical drawings and understand automotive or mechanical manufacturing workflows

Strong analytical mindset, cross-functional collaboration skills, and problem-solving drive
