Job summary

Novotel Makassar Grand Shayla is seeking a hands-on Engineering Leader to support the Chief Engineer in directing the hotel’s Engineering department and daily operations. You will oversee preventative maintenance, build services performance, and ensure safe, compliant operations while mentoring the engineering team to deliver exceptional guest experiences.

Qualifications

• Experience leading and developing engineering teams in a fast-paced hotel environment.
• Strong knowledge of building services including HVAC, electrical, plumbing and maintenance systems.
• Proactive, solutions-focused with excellent organizational skills and ability to manage competing priorities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management across departments.
• WHS compliance and contractor management experience.
• Experience with preventative maintenance programs and safety cultures.

Responsibilities

• Support the Chief Engineer in leading the Engineering department and daily hotel operations.
• Oversee preventative maintenance programs and the performance of building services, plant and equipment.
• Lead, coach and develop the engineering team while promoting a strong safety culture.
• Manage maintenance priorities, contractor works and compliance to high standards.
• Support capital projects, sustainability initiatives and continuous improvement programs.
• Collaborate with operations to ensure a seamless luxury guest experience.
• Act as department leader in the absence of the Chief Engineer and provide hands-on technical support when required.
