Job summary

Accor operates the Novotel Makassar Grand Shayla, seeking an Engineering Leader to support the Chief Engineer in daily hotel operations. You will oversee maintenance programs, lead a skilled engineering team, and ensure top-tier safety and performance of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.

Working closely with other departments, you will drive capital projects, sustainability initiatives, and continuous improvement to deliver a luxury guest experience.

Qualifications

• Experience leading and developing engineering teams in fast-paced hotel/large facility operations.
• Strong technical knowledge across building services including HVAC, electrical, plumbing.
• Solid understanding of preventative maintenance, contractor management and statutory compliance.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management across departments.

Job Description

• Supporting the Chief Engineer in leading the Engineering department and daily operations across the hotel.
• Overseeing preventative maintenance programs and the performance of building services, plant and equipment.
• Leading, coaching and developing the engineering team while promoting a strong safety culture.
• Managing maintenance priorities, contractor works and compliance requirements to the highest standard.
• Supporting capital projects, sustainability initiatives and continuous improvement programs.
• Working closely with operational departments to ensure a seamless luxury guest experience.
• Acting as the department leader in the absence of the Chief Engineer and providing hands‑on technical support when required.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a hotel engineering, facilities management or maintenance leadership role, ideally within a five star hotel, premium hospitality environment or large-scale facility.
• Demonstrated experience leading and developing engineering teams in a fast-paced operational environment.
• Strong technical knowledge across building services, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing and general maintenance systems.
• Sound understanding of preventative maintenance programs, contractor management, WHS and statutory compliance requirements.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across departments.
• A proactive, solutions-focused approach with strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
