Job summary

PT Powertek Indo Asia is seeking a technically capable Application Engineer to support Sales teams and customers. You will size and configure valves, VSDs, electric motors, and related equipment, and prepare detailed technical and commercial proposals.

The role requires reviewing engineering drawings, coordinating with principals and suppliers, and delivering technical presentations, training, and on-site support for installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years in Application Engineering, Technical Support, or Technical Sales.
• Strong technical understanding of valves, instrumentation, VSDs, electric motors, or HVAC systems.
• Experience in product selection, sizing, system configuration, and application engineering solutions.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, SLDs, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications.
• Experience in preparing technical and commercial proposals with costing and compliance.
• Familiar with principal/supplier coordination, technical clarification, and price negotiation.
• Good analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication, presentation, and customer coordination skills.
• Ability to travel for customer visits and project support.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical consultation to Sales teams and customers to understand requirements and propose solutions.
• Perform technical selection, sizing, and configuration of valves, VSDs, motors, and related equipment.
• Prepare technical and commercial proposals with specifications, diagrams, and cost estimates.
• Review drawings and specs to ensure accurate product selection.
• Coordinate with principals and suppliers on specs, availability, pricing, and terms.
• Maintain relationships with principals and suppliers and negotiate pricing.
• Conduct technical presentations, demonstrations, and training for customers and engineers.
• Provide technical support for installation, commissioning, startup, and troubleshooting.
• Support tender processes and project execution with Sales and internal teams.
• Identify technical improvements to enhance performance and cost-efficiency.

Job description

Prepare technical and commercial proposals, including product specifications, system diagrams, and cost estimations.

Review engineering drawings, technical specifications, and customer requirements to ensure accurate product selection.

Coordinate with principals and suppliers regarding technical specifications, product availability, pricing, and commercial terms.

Maintain strong relationships with principals and suppliers and negotiate competitive pricing.

Conduct technical presentations, product demonstrations, and training for customers, contractors, and consulting engineers.

Provide technical support for installation, commissioning, startup, and troubleshooting activities.

Collaborate with Sales and other internal departments to support tender processes and project execution.

Identify and recommend technical solutions to improve system performance, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.

Requirements

Minimum Bachelor's Degree (S1) in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering field.

Minimum 3 years of experience in Application Engineering, Technical Support, Technical Sales, or related engineering roles.

Strong technical understanding of valves, instrumentation, Variable Speed Drives (VSDs), electric motors, or HVAC systems.

Experience in product selection, technical sizing, system configuration, and application engineering solutions.

Able to read and interpret engineering drawings, SLD, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications.

Experienced in preparing technical and commercial proposals, including product specifications, costing, and technical compliance.

Familiar with principal/supplier coordination, technical clarification, and price negotiation.

Good analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

Strong communication, presentation, and customer coordination skills.

Able to communicate effectively in English, both written and spoken.

Able to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.

Willing to travel for customer visits, technical discussions, and project support as required.
