Job summary

ShopBack is seeking a Venture Lead to own both the business line and product, turning first-party data into a category-defining new venture. You are equal parts deal-maker and builder—50% commercial, 50% product, with ownership of the P&L.

You will identify data licensing opportunities, define and ship an AI data product with engineers, and design monetisation models for API access and deployments. Report directly to the CPO and drive rapid validation with external partners.

Qualifications

• Experience in data licensing, data monetisation, or data marketplace businesses.
• Built a data platform or owned a product atop proprietary data.
• Focus on revenue, margin, and deal structure beyond engagement metrics.
• Understanding of LLMs, RAG architectures, and agent frameworks.
• Comfort with ambiguity, direct customer interaction, and shipping results.

Responsibilities

• Identify, structure, and close data licensing or data-as-a-service deals with merchants and platforms.
• Define and ship the AI data product with engineers for ShopBack's data moat.
• Design monetisation models for AI-enhanced data products (API tiers, deployments).
• Shape the go-to-market narrative to external partners and data markets.
• Move from commercial hypothesis to working prototype with real partners.
