Job summary

ShopBack is seeking an AI-native product designer/lead who bridges product thinking and design craft to ship AI-powered consumer experiences. You will frame problems, set quality bars, prototype early with AI tools, and lead domain strategy with measurable outcomes.

You will also own the eval layer for AI features, mentor peers, and maintain a machine-readable design system to ensure scalable, high-quality delivery across the team.

Qualifications

• Strong design eye with ability to prototype consumer experiences end-to-end.
• Can spec requirements in forms that directly unblock engineers: verbal description, production URL reference, component vocabulary, or working prototype.
• Work has very few visual issues; localisation, edge cases, and interaction precision are addressed.
• Genuine fluency with consumer AI products.

Responsibilities

• Frame the problem, not just the solution and sharpen into a clear problem statement.
• Set the craft bar by defining what great looks like and maintaining standards under deadlines.
• Prototype to think using AI-assisted tools before specs are written.
• Lead the product strategy for your domain and connect metrics to design decisions.
• Build the eval layer for AI surfaces with structured tests and clear quality criteria.
• Lift the team around you by sharing patterns and standards and providing leadership from day one.
• Model AI-native practice for the team and help others understand AI leverage.
• Maintain the design system as a machine-readable knowledge layer.
