Job summary

Astro Holdings Berhad is seeking a Vendor Manager to lead vendor acquisition for fresh vegetables and fruits, manage direct contracts with farmers, and optimize price and volume strategies across Java and Lampung.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, procurement, agribusiness, or related fields.
• Basic understanding of purchasing/procurement processes and supplier management.
• Good understanding of vendor management.
• Knowledge of fresh produce, food ingredients, or F&B products is advantageous.
• Basic commercial knowledge including price comparison and purchasing decisions.
• Proven experience in vendor acquisition or supply chain within agriculture industry.
• Experience with fresh produce import vendors is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills with diverse stakeholders.
• Analytical mindset for price benchmarking, performance metrics, and margin impact.
• High adaptability and resilience in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Approach, acquire, and onboard prospective vendors for fresh vegetables and fruits.
• Manage direct volume contracts with farmers and suppliers across Java and Lampung.
• Conduct regular vendor visits to establish rapport and evaluate operations.
• Negotiate pricing, volume allocation, and planting/harvesting schedules.
• Perform price comparisons and performance analysis across vendors for cost efficiency.
• Support Hulu initiatives and setups for physical trading hubs and direct upstream sourcing.
• Operate in a mobile environment with frequent site visits across industrial zones and farm sites.

• Conduct regular vendor visits to establish strong rapport, evaluate operations, and maintain ongoing commercial relationships.
• Negotiate pricing, volume allocation, and planting/harvesting schedules to secure optimal supply stability and better margins.
• Perform continuous price comparison and performance analysis across vendors to ensure competitive edge and cost efficiency.

Job Requirements

• Minimum Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, Agribusiness, Food Technology, or related fields.
• Basic understanding of purchasing/procurement processes and supplier management.
• Good understanding of vendor management.
• Knowledge of fresh produce, food ingredients, or F&B products would be advantageous.
• Basic commercial knowledge, including price comparison, cost consideration, and purchasing decisions.
• Proven experience in vendor acquisition or supply chain within the agriculture industry, preferably from an agriculture tech startup or fresh supply chain company.
• Experience in managing or communicating with fresh produce import vendors is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills to deal with diverse stakeholders, from local farmers to import vendors.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to conduct price benchmarking, performance metrics evaluation, and margin impact assessment.
• High adaptability and resilience to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic working environment.
