Job summary

Barclays in Hong Kong is seeking a VP Full Stack Developer to engineer the next generation of our Liquid Financing, SBL, and Equity Repo platforms. You will deliver Java Spring back-end systems and Angular front-ends in a fast-paced front-office environment.

This hands-on role requires deep SBL knowledge, strong engineering discipline, and the ability to translate market needs into robust microservices on OpenShift, with a focus on security, scalability and production readiness.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in full-stack engineering with Java Spring Boot and Angular.
• Strong SQL knowledge (Oracle/MS SQL) with query optimization.
• OpenShift, containers, Linux and Git familiarity.
• Deep SBL/Equity Finance experience including workflows and collateral.
• Agile/Scrum with test-driven development.
• Ability to translate market needs into robust software for front-office traders.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, and deploy ePrime UI services and database components.
• Modernize legacy components into scalable microservices on OpenShift.
• Deliver front-to-back solutions with security, stability and performance.
• Implement CI/CD, test automation (TDD), and observability practices.
• Collaborate with SBL traders and middle office to translate requirements into design.
• Contribute to architectural direction and system integration strategy.
• Ensure production readiness with monitoring, data integrity and resilience.
