Job summary

dss+ is seeking a freelance Subject Matter Expert to support a major mining expansion project in Brazil. You will review and improve procedures for underground infrastructure, electrical systems, and commissioning, ensuring safe and compliant operation.

You will bring 10+ years in mining with underground experience, and you will work with client teams to translate engineering requirements into practical procedures, including risk controls and operational readiness activities.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of mining experience.
• Minimum 5 years supporting underground mine infrastructure.
• Experience in commissioning, energization, and operational readiness.
• Strong technical writing and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Review and evaluate procedures for underground infrastructure and utility systems.
• Assess medium- and low-voltage electrical distribution procedures.
• Review underground substations, electrical installations, and commissioning procedures.
• Evaluate isolation, LOTO, energization, and de-energization activities.
• Identify gaps between engineering requirements, construction activities, and operations.
