Job summary

dss+ is seeking a freelance SME with deep expertise in underground mine ventilation, atmospheric hazards, and emergency response to support a major mining expansion project in Brazil. You will review procedures, identify risks, and provide practical recommendations aligned with industry best practices.

You will work with dss+ and client stakeholders to translate complex technical requirements into actionable procedures that can be implemented by supervisors, operators and maintenance teams in

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of experience in underground mining operations.
• Minimum 5 years direct involvement in underground mine ventilation.
• Experience designing, operating, commissioning, optimizing or managing underground ventilation systems.
• Experience developing, reviewing, or implementing operational and emergency response procedures.

Responsibilities

• Review ventilation procedures, standards, and management systems.
• Assess ventilation and atmospheric monitoring practices.
• Evaluate post-blast ventilation and re-entry procedures.
• Support the development and validation of emergency preparedness plans and response procedures.
• Facilitate workshops with engineering, operations, safety and contractor teams.
