Job summary

Wah Kwong Shipping Agency Co Ltd in Hong Kong seeks a seasoned Change Management Lead to ensure major transformation initiatives deliver expected benefits. You will prepare staff for change, drive adoption of new systems and processes, and address barriers to successful implementation.

Reporting to the Chief Transformation Officer, the role requires strong workshop facilitation, communications planning and stakeholder management with senior leaders across the business.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in change management, organisation transformation, management consulting or communications.
• Master's and/or Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Operations, Psychology or a related discipline.
• Proven track record of leading organisation change, transformation and business improvement initiatives.
• Demonstrated experience working with senior executives and influencing across complex stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Conduct Change Impact Assessments for major initiatives to identify effects on employees and stakeholders.
• Develop practical change plans covering communications, engagement, training, leadership involvement and post-launch support.
• Identify adoption risks and address resistance, capability gaps and barriers before implementation.
• Map stakeholder groups for major initiatives and tailor engagement approaches for timely adoption.
• Partner with leaders to build ownership of change and provide messages, tools and support.

Job description

Reporting to the Chief Transformation Officer, the role ensures that major projects and transformation initiatives deliver their intended business outcomes by preparing employees for change, driving adoption of new systems, processes and ways of working, and identifying and addressing barriers that could prevent successful implementation.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct Change Impact Assessments for major initiatives to identify how proposed changes will affect employees and stakeholders, including impacts on roles, responsibilities, processes, systems, required skills and ways of working
• Develop practical change plans that prepare affected employees for implementation, covering communications, engagement, training, leadership involvement and post-launch support
• Identify adoption risks across affected employee groups and business areas, and work with leaders and project teams to address resistance, capability gaps and other barriers before they affect implementation
• Map key stakeholder groups for each major initiative, assess their level of impact and influence, and tailor engagement approaches to secure understanding, commitment and timely adoption
• Partner with business leaders and managers to build ownership of change and equip them with the messages, tools and support needed to lead their teams through major initiatives
• Coordinate change communications and training activities, in close liaison with Corporate Communications, to ensure employees understand what is changing, why it is changing, how it affects them and what they need to do differently
• Assess organisational readiness before major go-live events by identifying unresolved issues, capability gaps and stakeholder concerns that could put successful implementation at risk
• Measure post-implementation adoption and work with the business to address gaps, reinforce required behaviours and embed new ways of working
• Work with project and business leaders to translate new systems, processes and capabilities into sustained behavioural change that supports the realization of expected project benefits
• Support enterprise-wide culture and behavioural change initiatives where shifts in leadership behaviour, employee mindset or ways of working are required

About you

8+ years of experience in change management, organisation transformation, management consulting or communications

Master's and/or Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Operations, Psychology or a related discipline

Proven track record of leading organisation change, transformation and business improvement initiatives

Demonstrated experience in working with senior executives and influencing across complex stakeholders

Strong experience in managing workshops, with the ability to engage stakeholders, structure discussions and prepare clear change-related communications, presentations and training materials

Experience in developing and managing employee surveys to assess change readiness, adoption levels and stakeholder sentiment, with the ability to analyse feedback and translate insights into practical change actions

Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills

Fluent in spoken and written English, with a good command of spoken and written Chinese, including Mandarin
