Job summary

Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (Tsing Yi) is seeking a Student Affairs Officer to provide guidance and individual counselling to students, and to plan, design and implement student development programmes.

You will also provide career guidance, liaise with prospective employers to improve students' work readiness, and assist in student finance and related administrative tasks in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

  • A recognised degree in Social Work or a relevant discipline.
  • At least 3 years relevant experience in student services in education/youth work.
  • Experience with youth-at-risk and special educational needs is a plus.

Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (Tsing Yi)

Employment Period: 1 November 2026 to 14 April 2027

Major Duties
  • (a) To provide guidance and individual counselling services to students
  • (b) To plan, design, organise and implement student developmental programmes
  • (c) To provide career guidance and programmes, and liaise with prospective employers to enhance students work preparedness
  • (d) To provide training and professional consultation to student organisations
  • (e) To assist in matters related to student finance and other administrative work
  • (f) To support Structured Whole Person Development Programme, Discipline-wide projects, including but not limited to IVElite, Wofoo Leaders Network, Drama Competition, Volunteer Movement, and strategic initiatives of the Vocational Training Council and
  • (g) To assist in the development and review of the quality assurance policies of the Student Development Office.
Requirements
  • (a) A recognised degree in Social Work or a relevant discipline, and registered under the Social Workers Registration Ordinance (Chapter 505)
  • (b) At least 3 years relevant experience in the provision of student services in education sector and/or youth work in social work setting
  • (c) Applicants with 5 years or more full-time relevant experience will be an advantage
  • (d) Substantial experience in personal / career counselling to the youth, organising youth activities and developmental programmes
  • (e) Experience in working with youth-at-risk and students with special educational needs will be an advantage
  • (f) A high level of written and spoken language proficiency in both English and Chinese and
  • (g) Good interpersonal, planning and problem solving skills, and able to work under pressure and dynamic environment.
Notes
  • (1) The post is at the rank of Student Affairs Officer.
  • (2) Applicants with substantial experience and achievements in the relevant field but without the required academic / professional qualifications OR those with exceptional academic / professional qualifications but with less experience may also apply.
  • (3) Successful candidates are required to perform duties outside normal office hours.
  • (4) In support of the Sexual Conviction Record Check (SCRC) Scheme launched by the Hong Kong Police Force, all prospective appointees will be requested to undergo the SCRC at the advanced stage of the employment process.
