Job summary

Crossings Executive Search seeks an experienced System Engineer for its client's IT Infrastructure team in Hong Kong. The role covers implementing, administering and supporting the group’s systems across on-premises and virtual environments.

The ideal candidate has at least 7 years of Linux system administration, with storage and backup experience (NetApp or similar, Veeam). Python scripting and VMware certification (VCP) are advantageous for this position.

Qualifications

• Degree in Information Technology or related disciplines.
• Minimum seven (7) years of solid experience in system administration and support in Linux.
• Experience in storage (NetApp or similar) and Veeam.
• Experience in automation with scripting in Python is a plus.
• Certified qualification in VMware Certified Professional (VCP) is plus.

Our client is a well-known and reputable enterprise with well-established IT division over a hundred staff in Hong Kong, and they are currently seeking an experienced System Engineer to join their IT Infrastructure team, responsible for all-rounded system implementation, administration and support for the group.

Responsibilities

Check system and server healthiness and performance on daily basis

Perform system monitoring and tuning, system administration and housekeeping activities

Conduct patch review and annual patch management exercise

Perform system upgrade or enhancements

Troubleshoot system incidents and is responsible for problem diagnostics and escalation to vendors

Technical aspect:

Hypervisor, VM, VDI, backup, storage, infrastructure maintenance and health check

Python with PowerShell and rest API script to manage Hypervisor, VM and VDI

Hypervisor, VM and VDI incident handling

AI LLM related technique (For example: Hermes Agent, Server-Sent Events, ReadableStream, Shadcn UI, Ant Design, Python with FastAPI, Redis, PostgreSQL and Orchestration) is a plus

Handle Chinese brand server or related device (For example: Sanfor, Hauwei, Ali cloud platform, H3C network device) is a plus

Requirements
