Job summary

TEKsystems in Hong Kong is seeking a seasoned Platform Engineer to manage and support enterprise application platforms running on Kubernetes. You will deploy, configure, and maintain applications across development, testing, and production, perform upgrades, patches, and migrations, and collaborate to streamline releases.

Responsibilities include CI/CD workflow implementation, Linux system administration, scripting for automation, and maintaining runbooks and deployment procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, engineering, or a related field.
• 3–10 years of experience in application support, platform engineering, DevOps, or system administration.
• Scripting proficiency in Bash, Python, or Shell for automation.
• Hands-on Kubernetes deployment, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with Kubernetes cluster migrations and CI/CD workflows.
• Strong Linux server administration knowledge and monitoring skills.
• Familiarity with Jira/Confluence and observability tools; English and Chinese fluency.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and support enterprise application platforms.
• Deploy, configure, and maintain applications running on Kubernetes environments across development, testing, and production platforms.
• Execute platform upgrades, patches, and maintenance activities while ensuring service continuity and operational stability.
• Support environment migration initiatives, including application deployment and workload transitions between Kubernetes clusters.
• Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and engineering teams to streamline release and deployment processes.

• Perform Linux system administration activities including configuration management, performance monitoring, security patching, and troubleshooting.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 3-10 years of experience in application support, platform engineering, DevOps, system administration
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Shell scripting for automation purposes.
• Hands-on experience deploying and managing applications in Kubernetes environments.
• Experience with Kubernetes cluster migration, application deployment, upgrade, and troubleshooting activities.
• Good working knowledge of Linux operating systems and server administration.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools and deployment automation practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose complex technical issues.
• Effective communication and stakeholder management skills in a collaborative environment.
• Flexibility to provide support during maintenance windows or critical production deployments when required.
• Experience supporting Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence)
