Job summary

HKUST’s Department of Accounting seeks a Student Wellness Officer to promote well-being and oversee SEN-related programs. You will identify wellness gaps, design tailored initiatives, and provide admin support for counseling, advising, activities, and internships.

You will collaborate with academic and non-academic offices to empower staff to address student needs, foster inclusiveness, and support crisis intervention. This is a 2-year contract.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in psychology, counseling, social work or education.
• Fluent in Chinese (Cantonese and Putonghua) and English.
• Excellent communication and sophisticated interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge in counseling skills and therapeutic treatment, crisis intervention.

Responsibilities

• Promote student well-being by launching wellness and SEN-related programs.
• Identify wellness gaps and implement tailored initiatives for the department.
• Provide administrative and logistical support on student affairs including counseling, advising, activities and internships.
• Empower faculty and staff to address students’ personal needs and foster inclusiveness.
• Cultivate a caring and supportive culture across the department to enrich student life beyond academics.
• Intervene and stabilize emotions for students, faculty and staff in crisis situations.
• Collaborate with academic and non-academic offices to assist students in resolving personal concerns.
