Job summary

City University of Hong Kong invites applications for the role of Executive Officer I/II in the College of Computing (Ref. R/334/26). The successful candidate will help plan, establish and operate the Computing Research Centre and Institute, coordinating government funding and industry partnerships.

Candidates should hold a recognised postgraduate degree with 5–7 years of relevant experience, and have strong organisation, communication and bilingual skills in English and Chinese.

Qualifications

• A recognised postgraduate degree, with at least 5-7 years’ relevant working experience.
• Proven experience in research institutes, universities or other similar environments; experience in setting up new research institutes is preferred.
• Relevant working experience in AI, quantum technologies, or other emerging technology and research ecosystems;
• Solid experience in research project management, government funding applications, research collaboration or industry partnership development;
• Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua);
• Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks independently and effectively;
• Familiarity with developments in the research and innovation sectors in Hong Kong and Chinese Mainland would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the planning, establishment and operational set-up of the Computing Research Centre and Institute;
• Coordinate the preparation, submission and administration of government funding applications, collaborative research proposals and industry partnership projects;
• Assist in introducing and integrating relevant resources, and promoting exchanges and cooperation with various institutions;
• Support office administration and manage the day-to-day operations of the Computing Research Centre and Institute;
• Coordinate meetings, academic events, visits and external engagement activities; and
• Undertake special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
