Job summary

NLS Executive Search client in Hong Kong is seeking a Storage Engineer to manage day-to-day storage health, performance, capacity, and incident resolution across multiple platforms.

You will work hands-on with NetApp, Pure Storage, IBM Storage and Dell EMC, coordinate with infrastructure teams, and participate in on-call rotations to ensure reliable services.

Strong documentation habits and scripting skills (Python/Bash/PowerShell) help optimize operations and automate repetitive tasks.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience in enterprise storage operations and production support.
• Experience with NetApp, Pure Storage, IBM Storage and Dell EMC.
• Automation/scripting skills (Python/Bash/PowerShell) to improve operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Provide operational support for enterprise storage systems, including monitoring, triage, troubleshooting, and resolution.
• Manage storage capacity planning and forecasting; ensure services remain within performance/capacity thresholds.
• Support storage performance tuning and capacity efficiency initiatives (e.g., monitoring workload behavior, tiering, and utilization).
• Handle incident management and escalation, including post-incident analysis and action plans.
• Coordinate with infrastructure/network/security teams to implement storage-related changes safely and with proper change control.
• Perform administrative tasks such as provisioning, zoning/host connectivity validation, snapshot/replication management, and backup/restore support.
• Maintain and update runbooks, SOPs, configuration documentation, and operational dashboards.
• Work with vendors/third parties during major incidents, planned maintenance, and hardware upgrades.
• Participate in on-call/shift coverage as required.
