Job summary

Reap is seeking a Staff/Senior Engineer to enable agentic payments across our platform. This roving role requires quickly joining teams, shipping end‑to‑end capabilities, and building scalable Node.js/TypeScript backends within a mostly remote, async environment.

You’ll navigate multiple teams, driving architecture and implementation with leadership collaboration. You’ll work across AWS services, Postgres databases, and serverless patterns, delivering high‑quality, adaptable infrastructure that

Qualifications

• 5–8+ years of professional backend engineering experience.
• Deep expertise with Node.js and TypeScript, including RESTful design and async patterns.
• Strong AWS experience (Lambda, SQS, Aurora, CloudWatch).
• Strong SQL fundamentals and relational databases.
• Familiarity with event-driven and serverless architectures.
• Low ego and high adaptability; autonomous in a fully remote, async team.

Responsibilities

• Embed with engineering teams across Reap to build and integrate agentic payment capabilities.
• Own agentic features end‑to‑end across team boundaries: design the flow, build it, and operate it in production.
