Job summary

Reap is seeking a Staff/Senior Backend Engineer to enable agentic payments across its platform. You will drop into whichever team needs to ship an agentic capability, work with engineers, and build the rails that make the agentic flow work end-to-end.

The role requires adaptability and the ability to ship in a fully remote, async environment, delivering production-grade backend services in Node.js/TypeScript on AWS and collaborating with product and founders to advance fintech infrastructure.

Qualifications

• 5-8+ years of backend engineering experience.
• Strong Node.js and TypeScript with RESTful API design.
• Experience with AWS cloud services (Lambda, SQS, EventBridge, etc.).
• Solid SQL fundamentals and relational databases.
• Familiarity with event-driven and serverless architectures.
• Excellent communication and ability to work autonomously in a remote team.

Responsibilities

• Embed with engineering teams to build agentic payment capabilities across the platform.
• Own end-to-end agentic features across team boundaries.
