Job summary

Longport Technology HK Limited in Hong Kong is seeking a skilled Pre-Sales Solutions Engineer to drive technical engagements with brokers, banks, and wealth managers. You will conduct compelling product demonstrations, tailor content to client needs, and serve as the primary technical contact throughout the sales cycle.

You will collaborate with Sales, Product, and Engineering to translate client requirements into actionable specifications, participate in POC sessions, and help prepare RFI/RFP

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or above in Finance, Business, Information Technology or related field.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in pre-sales, solutions engineering or technical consultant role within financial technology services, preferably in brokerage, trading platforms or wealth management.
• Prior experience with system vendors is an advantage.
• Experience with CRM software and project management tools.
• Strong understanding of multi-asset classes (equities, bonds, funds, derivatives, virtual assets/cryptocurrencies).
• Solid knowledge of brokerage operations, trading workflows and market data; HK/US/China securities markets knowledge.
• Familiarity with HK financial market regulations (SFC, KYC/AML).
• Proven ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business language.
• Excellent presentation, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently or in a team.
• Fluent in English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin).

Responsibilities

• Contribute to sales enablement materials and training.
• Support ad-hoc duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Conduct compelling product demonstrations, presentations, and workshops to prospective clients
• Clearly articulate the value proposition, features, and technical architecture
• Customize presentations and demonstrations to align with client-specific requirements and pain points.
• Serve as a primary technical point of contact during the sales cycle, addressing client queries related to platform functionality, integration capabilities, security, performance, and compliance
• Collaborate with clients to understand their existing systems, workflows, and technical challenges, and propose tailored solutions
• Conduct technical deep-dives and proof-of-concept (POC) sessions as required
• Work closely with the sales team to qualify leads and gather detailed business and technical requirements from prospects
• Translate client requirements into clear functional and technical specifications for product and engineering teams
• Assist in the preparation of RFI/RFP responses, ensuring technical accuracy and alignment with client needs
• Stay abreast of industry trends in FinTech, internet brokerage, wealth management, multi-asset trading, and emerging technologies (e.g., blockchain, AI)
• Monitor competitor offerings and market dynamics to inform our product positioning and sales strategies.
• Provide market feedback to product management and development teams to drive continuous product improvement
• Liaise effectively with internal teams including Sales, Product Management, Engineering, Operations, Legal, and Compliance to ensure seamless pre-sales to post-sales handover
• Contribute to the development of sales enablement tools, collateral and training materials
• Assist in other ad-hoc duties as assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or above in Finance, Business, Information Technology or related fields
• Minimum 3 years' of experience in a pre-sales, solutions engineering or technical consultant role within the financial technology services, specifically in brokerage, trading platforms or wealth management is preferred
• Prior experience with system vendors is an advantage
• Experience with CRM software and project management tools is a plus
• Strong understanding of multi-asset classes (e.g. equities, bonds, funds, derivatives, and ideally, virtual assets/cryptocurrencies)
• Solid knowledge of brokerage operations, trading workflows and market data; In-depth knowledge of the Hong Kong, US and Chinese securities markets
• Familiarity with the Hong Kong financial market regulatory environment (e.g., SFC regulations, KYC/AML requirements)
• Proven ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise, and compelling business language for various audiences
• Excellent presentation, communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong problem-solving abilities and a consultative approach, capable of addressing clients needs
• Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently as well as part of a team
• Excellent command in both written and spoken English and Chinese (including Cantonese and Mandarin)
