Job summary

Swing Consulting Limited in Hong Kong seeks a Senior Data Engineer proficient in Java and Python to design scalable ETL pipelines and production-grade applications. You will manage data across heterogeneous databases and drive data modelling, governance, and cloud integration.

Requirements include 7+ years in data engineering within capital markets or FinTech, strong communication, and stakeholder management. Cantonese, English, and Mandarin skills are preferred.

Qualifications

• Degree holder or above in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Engineering or related fields.
• 7+ years of relevant experience in data engineering / programming within capital markets or FinTech, or related roles.
• Skilled in Java and Python, alongside proven expertise in data modelling frameworks and technical writing.
• Hands-on experience with Oracle, Postgres, GaussDB, OceanBase, NoSQL, or Object-Oriented databases.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, and documentation skills, with ability to communicate clearly in business language while working effectively with technical teams.
• Solid understanding of data governance, data quality, reporting processes, and the relationship between business processes, data pipelines, and platform capabilities.
• Experienced in public and private clouds is highly preferred.
• Working experience with government projects will be a plus.
• Good communication skills in Cantonese, English, and Mandarin.

Responsibilities

• Design scalable real-time, and batch ETL pipelines using enterprise integration tools.

Job description

Pipeline & Software Engineering: Design scalable, real-time, and batch ETL pipelines using enterprise integration tools. Write optimized, production-grade applications in both Java and Python.

Data analysis and cleansing: Normalize and cleanse data from multiple sources, and build automation to enforce and verify the same.

Database Management: Coordinate data movement and schema evolution across a diverse matrix including Oracle, PostgreSQL, GaussDB, OceanBase, Object-Oriented databases, and NoSQL systems.

Data Modelling & Architecture: Architect conceptual, logical, and physical data models tailored for transactional and analytical systems, maintaining meticulous schema documentation.

DLT & Cloud Integration: Build resilient data solutions within secure cloud environments, seamlessly parsing and structuring Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) data.

Stakeholder Facilitation & Support: Facilitate data working groups to foster cross-departmental alignment. Proactively collect technical requirements from non-technical stakeholders, translate business needs into data schemas, and provide tier-3 technical support for downstream analytics teams.

Data Governance & Security: Implement data security, access controls, and data quality monitoring frameworks.

Job Requirements:
