Job summary

You will hire and mentor engineers, define technical standards, and manage end-to-end delivery from requirements through deployment, monitoring, and maintenance, ensuring security and scalability across devices

Qualifications

• 8+ years in software engineering with 5+ years leading teams.
• Experience launching consumer electronics software.
• Strong knowledge of iOS/Android development and mobile-backend architecture.

Position Overview

We are looking for a senior, hands-on engineering leader to take end-to-end ownership of the software team and software delivery. You will turn product and business priorities into a clear technical roadmap, build a high-performing team, make sound architectural decisions, and deliver reliable, intuitive software across their ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

Software Strategy & Technical Architecture

• Own the software roadmap and architecture across iOS/Android applications, cloud/backend services, AI integrations, data/analytics, and developer-facing SDKs and APIs, aligned with the product roadmap.
• Lead technical decisions across device-app-cloud experiences, balancing performance, latency, scalability, security, privacy, development cost, and long-term maintainability.
• Assess new technologies and external solutions; define clear build-versus-partner decisions and technical priorities for consumer and B2B product requirements.

Team Leadership & Execution

• Hire, lead, coach, and develop software engineers and team leads; establish clear ownership, technical standards, performance expectations, and effective collaboration with external development resources.
• Take responsibility for planning and delivering the full software lifecycle: requirements, feasibility, design, development, testing, deployment, app releases, monitoring, and maintenance.
• Establish practical engineering processes including architecture/code reviews, CI/CD, release gates, issue tracking, root-cause analysis, and transparent milestone and risk reporting.

Product Quality, AI & User Experience

• Work closely with Product/UX, Firmware, Hardware, Algorithms, QA, and Customer Support teams to deliver seamless experiences, including connectivity, camera/audio workflows, AI assistance, and mobile-app interactions.
• Drive continuous, data-led UX improvement using customer feedback, support cases, app reviews, analytics, and field/QA findings; prioritize reliability, responsiveness, usability, and defect resolution.
• Guide integration of on-device, mobile, and cloud AI services, with appropriate attention to user consent, information security, service reliability, and operating costs.

SDK, B2B Integration & Stakeholder Management

• Own the software delivery quality of the Solos B2B SDK/API ecosystem, including versioning, developer documentation, integration readiness, and support for partner use cases and private-label solutions.
• Coordinate technical commitments with Sales, Business Development, partners, and management; communicate trade-offs, resource needs, delivery risks, and progress clearly.

Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
• More than 8 years of software engineering experience, including more than 5 years leading software teams, with proven experience developing, launching, and maintaining commercial consumer electronics products.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary application and platform engineering teams, set architecture and priorities, mentor engineers, and manage delivery in a fast-moving product environment.
• Strong knowledge of iOS/Android application development and mobile-backend architecture; experience with hybrid frameworks
• Sound understanding of backend services, APIs, cloud platforms, data flows, software testing, deployment, and production troubleshooting;
• Experience with connected devices, Bluetooth/Wi-Fi integration, AI/LLM service integration, SDK products, or consumer wearables is highly desirable.
• Strong analytical judgment, ownership, and communication skills; able to engage equally well with engineering teams, business stakeholders, and external partners.
• Able to review architectures and engineering work, challenge assumptions, and guide the team through complex technical problems without relying solely on status reporting.
