Job summary

Nanyang Commercial Bank in Hong Kong is seeking an experienced settlement operations professional to oversee daily settlement of FX, money market, fixed income and derivatives. The role requires hands-on trade confirmation, matching and payment execution, plus liaison with counterparties to resolve discrepancies.

You will ensure strong internal controls, maintain SOPs, and participate in system enhancements from project initiation to implementation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years in the settlement and operations.
• Experience in treasury settlement operations.
• HKMA/SFC knowledge and HKTR reporting advantageous.
• Immediate availability preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily settlement of FX, MM, Fixed Income, and Derivatives.
• Perform trade confirmation, matching, and payment execution.
• Liaise with external counterparties to resolve trade discrepancies.
• Support bond settlement and derivative lifecycle events.
• Minimize operational risk and manage escalated exceptions.
• Enforce internal controls and audit trails.
• Review and update SOPs to optimize workflow.
• Participate in system enhancement projects from initiation to implementation.

Job description

Job Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily settlement of FX, Money Market (MM), Fixed Income, and Derivatives;
• Perform trade confirmation, matching, and payment execution;
• Liaise with external counterparties, brokers to investigate and resolve trade discrepancies;
• Support bond settlement and derivative life cycle events;
• Minimize operational risks, prevent settlement failures, and handle complex escalated exception cases;
• Enforce strict segregation of duties and internal controls by verifying transactions and system data changes;
• Review and update standard operating procedures continuously to optimize workflow efficiency;
• Participate in system enhancement project, manage and resolve problems during different stages from project initiation to its implementation.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Business Administration or related disciplines;
• At least 5 years of working experience in the settlement and operations department;
• Solid experience in operations of treasury settlement;
• Prior experience of HKTR (Hong Kong Trade Repository) reporting is a definite advantage;
• Good understanding of HKMA, SFC, and international regulations;
• Proficiency in both written and spoken English, Chinese and Putonghua;
• Immediate available is highly preferred.
