Job summary

The Vocational Training Council invites applications for the position of Senior Instructor (Food Preparation Western) within the Hotel and Tourism Institute / Chinese Culinary Institute / International Culinary Institute in Hong Kong. Qualifications

A recognised higher diploma in Hotel/Catering Management/Culinary Arts or equivalent.
6+ years' experience in hotel/catering industry in work or teaching.
Good supervisory and administrative abilities.
Knowledge of trade-specific terminologies.
Excellent communication and presentation in English and Chinese; Putonghua preferred.
Good computer skills and basic office applications.
Ability to pass a trade test.

Responsibilities

To conduct classes and practical training in western food preparation.
To assist in development of programme curriculum and teaching, learning and assessment materials.
To deliver catering and culinary services to hotel guests and members of the general public during daily operations.
To assist in the supervision and management of staff and resources; preparation of financial estimates and training statistics and maintenance of student and related records.
To carry out duties in relation to student and academic administration, including recruitment and placement of students.
To oversee procurement, maintenance and commissioning of plants and equipment.
To perform duties related to the effective running of training programmes and daily operations of Training Kitchens.
To liaise with counterparts in the industry and related associations.
